Joy to Everyone

I love Christmas! I love the cool weather, the hot coco, the music, the smells, the gifts, the lights and basically everything about it! This year I am even more excited about it because of Katie. Katie is such a joy in my life and she has been such a cutie this Christmas season. She can say "Merry Christmas", "Santa", "baby Jesus" and "ohhh pretty" whenever she sees the lights at night. She is such a beautiful little girl and I love Christmas that much more because I get to see the joy of Christmas through her bright blue eyes! I get to see the excitement and joy that Christmas brings for someone who is experiencing it for the first time. (Even though she had Christmas last year. This year she is much more involved). This video is such a great video that helps remind me of the reason for the season. When you watch it make sure your sound is turned on because the music is beautiful. Thanksgiving

Wow time flies! It has been a long time since I have updated the blog! Despite the amount of time that has passed since I last updated there is really nothing new to report from the Smith family. Katie is talking all of the time and is constantly amazing her daddy and I, in fact we still can't believe that she is ours! Thanksgiving was great! My sister hosted the family in her new beautiful home and we had a lot of fun. Sadly Stephen and I forgot the camera at home so we don't have any pictures to post of Thanksgiving. One quick thought on Thanksgiving I just wanted to thank the Smith family for introducing me to the pretzel jello salad (which I discovered from past Thanksgivings with the Smith family). The Pehrson family had never had this salad before and it was such a great hit that my brother Russell claims and I quote, "I will never eat Jello again without pretzels in it!" Stephen and I especially missed all of the Smiths this Thanksgiving and we can't wait to see you on Christmas Night! In the mean time here our some random and recent pictures so at least I can blog something.

Halloween Night

Halloween was really fun! Katie was an adorable lady bug even if the whole night she kept asking me to take off her costume! Stephen and I dressed up too. We went as lady bug catchers! We had matcing shirts and hats that said lady bug catchers on them and it was very fitting considering that the entire night we spent running after our little ladybug! We did a little trick or treating around the neighborhood before the ward Halloween party. Katie even won an award for being the cutest insect at the party! It was a fun night!

Last night we carved pumpkins! Stephen has many talents but I think one that not many know about is his ability to carve pumpkins! Wow he did such a good job! Stephen carved the cat and the witch! They look awesome. Katie was in a horrible mood last night so that is why she isn't in many picts!

Not much to share...

Well I haven't been dong to well at updating recently because there hasn't been anything to update about. Katie is doing well although she is sick with a cold so that is not fun. Stephen and I are fine although I have shingles! I know weird usually only older people get them but I have them now too! Other than that nothing is new!

Thursday is Library Day!

Every Thursday my big sis and I take our kids to the library for story time and to pick out new library books! Lots of fun! Anyway here are some picts of library day!

Scary Doll!

Today my mom and I made some bread and cookies and brought them over to some elderly people in our ward. It was a fun and great experience! Katie even received a little gift from one of the couples! It was really sweet of them and everything but...when Katie saw it she screamed "noooo" and she doesn't want a thing to do with it. Honestly while I appreciated the thought I can't really blame her!

Happy Halloween!

Funny story: So I was getting Katie dressed for the day and I asked Stephen to hand me her Halloween outfit. He gave me the strangest look and said, "Umm Beck I thought that was only for Halloween" I replied by telling him that I did not spend that much money on a cute little outfit for her to only wear it once. He said that he thought that was sort of the point of the outfit and I told him that I planned for her to wear it quite a bit in October. He then asked me if I was sure and I said yes! At this point I was thinking that he was a little crazy until he handed me Katie's ladybug Halloween costume! hahaha He thought that I was talking about her costume and having her wear that! I was really talking about the cute outfit seen below! We laughed about it for quite some time! The thing that really makes me smile though is that Stephen loves me so much he didn't argue about it he was just going to let me dress our daughter in a costume throughout the month on October to save my feelings. What a great guy! Anyways Happy Halloween!!

Pre-school Fun

Since Grandma Pehrson has retired from being a school teacher she now holds preschool once a week for Ellie, Tyler, and Katie (well Katie is there but obviously not so much for her!) So last week the kids were supposed to write letters in the shaving cream however, the kids had better ideas in mind especially Katie! So my post a couple of weeks ago about Katie getting dirty... well this one puts it to shame! How fun!!

Pre-school is paying off!

Katie is reading...Okay well not completely but she is on her way. Katie loves books, and she loves being read to. I love it too nothing is better then reading with my Katie!

Getting Dirty!

Katie usually is very big on cleanliness so much that sometimes I secretly worried about her having OCD! Often when she is eating if her hands get dirty she will look down at them and whine until we clean them off. Yesterday however, Katie saw her older cousin Ellie playing in the dirt and she decided that she could have fun playing too! Below are the results...



It was fun to see her get down and dirty but needless to say afterwords she had an early bath for the night!

Bubbles!

Katie loves baths and bubbles so we got her some blue painting bubbles for the bath and she had a blast with it!! It made the bath water turn blue though so I had to give her two baths one right after the other! oh well she had fun!

Katie has a little bit of hair! yea!

For all of you lucky moms who have children with hair I would ask you to be thankful! My little girl is 15 months old and this is the best that I can do with her hair! :) Oh well one day she will have hair right???

My all American girl!!

I know it might be a little silly but on 9-11 I had Katie dress all Patriotic to show some kind of support to our wonderful country that we live in!

Katie loves to go outside (she asks me to take her "owwside" about every five minutes of everyday!) Because of this we often go to what we fondly call the bear park, because of the bear statue! This is the neatest park (in Fresno) it has it all including ducks and a clean chlorinated little stream for the kids to play in! So I thought it would be fun to show some pictures of Katie "owwside"!

We're BACK!

Okay so Stephen katie and I really haven't been "gone" but we are back as far as blogging is concerned! So below are some recent pictures of Katie being Katie! Now that she is one I feel like I am always running after her! Katie is constantly getting into messes everyday but it is fun to see her explore her world. People have been wondering if Katie is walking yet the answer is no...she is RUNNING! She has been walking for a little over two months now! Again I will post a video of her walking soon! Katie is growing and learning everyday! Katie has quite a few words in her vocabulary now including: I love you or "I you", "outside" and please or "pease".

We got back from Mexico and the cruise! It was a lot of fun but I have discovered how thankful I am to be an American! It made celebrating the 4th even better! On Sunday Katie started taking steps! She can only walk from Stephen to me for like five steps but it is still really exciting to see. We have gotten it on tape but it's hard to see her so once we get a good taping of it we will post it!

Katie what's so funny?!

My family and I were sitting around the living room and my sister was teling a funny story that happened to her that day. We all started laughing at the story and I guess Katie wanted to join in so she started this fake laugh which is hillarious!!
